It's the third day that we are stuck in bangkok. The novelty of being on an adventure is wearing off. Behind the cheerful facade, I'm actually very worried.
With road blocks, chaos on the streets, we actually have no idea what we could do. 2 airports closed and flight suspended, it's really no joke.
Grandparents have ran out of medication for their high bloody pressure. Thankfully my Mom and Dad have enough for at least 10 days. Cant meet Prof Heese today at 2pm, and I have this feeling that he's getting pissed off with me.
My Dad has no more leave, my Mom has gotta go back to work 'cause her other colleague had already left for Beijing and there's no one to handle her work at all. Jie has art lessons to cancel, and leave to take.
I sit in the hotel all day, napping, eating, swimming, going for massage at the Osim chair at The Retreat, and updating my travel diary. The travel diary is the only thing that is keeping me occupied besides coming online periodically.
Thank goodness for Jas' lappy. And the wifi.
At other times, it would be filled with listening to the adults plan how to get outta here.
Yesterday night, it was trying to get a coach to send us to Penang, then from Penang, we would take a flight back to SG. But this morning, we heard news that the southern borders are having chaos too.
Then came to plan this morning to take the train from Thailand to Malaysia (I think it's Penang too), easier in the sense that the train would have toilets, and my gran would be more comfortable as compared to taking a coach with no toilet breaks.
Then came the sms from 5th kaima that there's a chartered flight from the military airbase straight back to SG, 12 seaters, S$4500. Thank God for kaima over at Singapore, handling all the calls to the Singapore embassy, giving us all the relevant numbers to call, contacting the airlines etc, and arranging for the extension of the travel insurance.
But that 12 seater is only one plane. And there are 21 of us over here.
So the plan changed yet again.
The plan is now to take a bus to the military airbase tomorrow morning, and to take the 11.15am plane to KL, before we settle for a bus back to SG, or to take a flight back to SG.
It's stressful, really. Listening to the adults plan, make phone calls, making sure that the roads to the places are safe.
Now all I wanna do is go back to Singapore safe and sound.
Just pray for us k?
Am super touched with all the concerned smses, comments on facebook, wall posts, and msn msges. I'm okay. Will stay safe. Just watch this space, will update when there's any changes.
Thanks everyone. =)
